LIONS GIVE SIGHT
By conducting vision screenings, equipping hospitals and clinics, distributing medicine and raising awareness of eye disease, Lions work toward their mission of providing vision for all. We have extended our commitment to sight conservation through countless local efforts and through our international SightFirst Program, which works to eradicate blindness.
LIONS SERVE YOUTH
Our community projects often support local children and schools through scholarships, recreation and mentoring. Internationally, we offer many programs, including the Peace Poster Contest, Youth Camps and Exchange and Lions Quest.
LIONS AWARD GRANTS
Since 1968, the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) has awarded more than US$700 million in grants to support Lions humanitarian projects around the world. LCIF was also ranked the number one nongovernmental organization in a 2007 study by The Financial Times.
LIONS HELP DURING DISASTERS
Together, our Foundation and Lions are helping communities following natural disasters by providing for immediate needs such as food, water, clothing and medical supplies – and aiding in long-term reconstruction.

LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION
Each year the Miami Five Stars Lions Club donates to the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF). This foundation provides grants and funding in the areas of Vision, Disaster Relief, Youth, Humanitarian, Diabetes, Childhood Cancer, Environment and Hunger.
FREE CHILD VISION TESTING
Each year, the Miami Five Stars Lions Club performs vision screenings for over 1,000 Children. We are partners with the Early Learning Coalition in this project.
SCHOLARSHIPS
The Miami Five Stars Lions Club provides scholarships to graduating High School Seniors who anticipate going on to study in the medical field. Last year, the Club provided $7,000 in scholarships to graduating Seniors!
EYEGLASS AND HEARING AID RECYCLING PR
OGRAM
The Miami Five Stars Lions Club has several collection points in the area for used Eyeglasses and Hearing Aids.
These are collected and sent to the Florida Lions Recycling Center, where they are cleaned and reissued to those who could not otherwise afford them. We collect over 50,000 pairs of used glasses annually.
SCHOOL VISION SERVICES
In Partnership with the National School Nurses Association Miami Five Stars Beach Lions Club provides vision care to hundreds of low income children through the VSP Sight for Students Program.
